Green Studios is committed to pioneering new solutions to minimise the environmental impact of our business and to help our customers achieve similar aims.
We have always taken a pragmatic approach to reducing our carbon footprint and realise that we need to enable our customers to make informed choices whilst also acknowledging that for most of us, changing to a greener way of life is very much a journey.
For example, many organisations pay scant regard to green issues and simply buy credits with carbon off-setting organisations. (Carbon off-setting is the concept of paying an organisation to invest in projects that reduce greenhouse gases elsewhere, rather than cutting our own greenhouse gases in the first place). At Green Studios, we do not believe this is the answer to climate change as it sends out the wrong message, namely that you can buy your way out of the problem of rising carbon emissions rather than seeking ways to cut greenhouse gases in the first place. That said, we do welcome any initiatives which engage people in discussion and activity to address the problems.
Our own journey simply started by our founder’s holiday reading, relaxing in the sun, trying to better understand about our own impact on the planet. We can highly recommend the book which started our journey - “Crap at the environment” is written by Mark Watson, a stand-up comedian, who talks candidly about his own “adventures trying to save the world” ...
“Crap at the Environment is a ‘movement’ to bring together people who are concerned about climate change and environmental damage, yet, until now, have been completely or fairly shit at doing anything about it. This crapness may have been caused by uncertainty about the issues, apathy, confusion, boredom, or just inclination to focus on more manageable things like the FA Cup.” Mark Watson
As a result, Green Studios is committed to constantly learning what we can about the issues in order that we might take manageable, achievable steps to being better citizens of our planet.
Hence all our buildings are constructed using high, yet sensible, specification components to enable, as a minimum standard, our Studios to be heated efficiently and cost effectively on a par with a modern home. We also make the best, highest specification options available, though at additional cost.
